Link Up Partners With Guelph Black Heritage Society and Guelph.Beer for Culture Quest, a 3-Stop Brewery Tour in Guelph

Culture Quest Tour Group (Route #2) at Sleeman Brewery in Guelph.

Culture Quest was more than just a brewery tour. It was an afternoon of discovery, designed to introduce the BIPOC community to Guelph's rich and diverse craft beer scene. With fresh beer at every stop, local food from BIPOC chefs, an engaging brewery tour and live music from some of Guelph's finest musicians, the day was filled with culture, craft and community.

Guelph’s local breweries teamed up to work with Link Up and the Guelph Black Heritage Society to run a special brewery bus tour on Sunday September 22, 2024. The experience focused on inviting and welcoming the BIPOC community to each brewery space with special activations to create a fun and engaging experience.

Link Up is a not-for-profit organization with a mission to connect and uplift talented and passionate individuals from BIPOC communities within the craft beer industry to diversify it and make it more welcoming to consumers from any culture.

Guelph Black Heritage Society raises awareness in Guelph of both local (Guelph and Wellington County) and national Black heritage as well as addressing social issues of importance to Black Canadian communities.

Guelph.Beer is a partnership focused on nurturing and growing Guelph’s exceptional beer culture by furthering beer education, promoting collaboration, and building Guelph’s reputation as a world-class brewing center and beer destination. The organization includes all of Guelph’s local breweries: Wellington, Royal City, Sleeman, Wrinkly Bear, Brothers, and Fixed Gear.

How it went down:

  • Each bus tour started and ended at Heritage Hall / Guelph Black Heritage Society.

  • There were 6 breweries split into two separate tour routes / groups with 3 stops each - see itinerary below.

  • Tickets included bus charter to each location, 12oz of beer at each stop (3), fun activities at each location (including live music, brewery tours and pop-up chefs), custom glass, tote bag, and a can of a collaboration beer created together by Guelph.Beer breweries.
